meet Coach Seamon

Bill Seamon was the head coach at Owensville high school for 25 years, winning 267 games. Bill has been one of the backbones of the National High School Baseball Coaches Association since it started in 1991. He is a charter member serving the organization in many ways.

Bill has written articles for NHSBCA publications, given clinic talks, been a member of the Executive Board, served as the Vice-President and President, and been on the National Ranking Committee representing the Midwest Region. Bill has served as the coordinator for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, setting up an annual breakfast and presentation each year at the convention.

Bill is the Director of the Missouri Baseball Coaches Association and helped Missouri become a dual member State in the NHSBCA. He has served as the MHSBCA President at a time when it was facing financial problems and brought stability back to the organization.

Bill was inducted into the Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame in 2001.  He is also been inducted into National High School Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame, the National Junior Sunbelt Hall of Fame and the Greater St. Louis Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame.   


Bill’s passion for baseball did not stop at retirement.  He is also been a clinician at high school conventions in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Michigan, Wisconsin among others.  Bill has published his first book, The Coaches Playbook: Developing a Philosophy for Coaching Baseball.  His greatest pleasure is talking baseball with his peers and teaching the game to all youth he has opportunity to come in contact with.
